World, Meet Kaiya Nicole
Okay, so I've been absent, but I have a good excuse, don't worry. On Thursday the 29th of March my beautiful sister gave birth to her third child and my amazing baby niece and I have photos to show off :)
My sister had a few complications with the morphine that was given to her as she was having a cesarean section but at 2.35pm and weighing at 9lbs (big baby) the beautiful baby girl, Kaiya Nicole was born. I'm highly honored to have her middle name named after me :)
Ah it's so exciting!! I'm just going to post the photos or I'll ramble about how cute she is for hours.

Long Weekend Wrap Up
This weekend is the long weekend, it's the Adelaide cup today and that's why it's the public holiday. I hate horse racing I think it's morally wrong, involving animals in a sport is unethical, I wont get into it, I just strongly disagree on this holiday.
Anyway now that I have that off my chest, wrapping up this weekend, on Friday Nick was involved in an Art market where they blocked off a side street in the city and had it set up with stalls for all local artists to sell their work. He did well and his work was amazing, he got a lot of good feedback and was able to meet a bunch of other local artists. This Market went from 4 -9pm, I baked cookies to giveaway at his stall, it was a lot of fun and a great opportunity for Nick to get his art recognized and I'm so proud of him for putting himself out there.
Saturday was a quiet night, we planned on going to a show that a few of our friends bands were playing at but I developed a migraine and felt the best thing to do was have a large pot of green tea and go straight to sleep.
I woke up completely cured Sunday morning, so I got up early and cooked Nick scrambled tofu and baked beans on toast for breakfast and then dragged him out of bed to eat it. Sunday night Nick played a show with his band in the city and I'd invited my best friend to come along with us so we decided to head in early and go to a clothing outlet store and got a bunch of stuff for incredibly cheap. We then headed into the city went to a renew adelaide cafe for a drink and then out for dinner before Nick needed to load in at the venue.
The show went really well and it was a lot of fun with a lot of good people. The show went until 1am, I crashed out in bed at soon as we got home.
It was overall a good weekend and here's some photos from the Art market.

Ain't I Just Like The Present To Be Showing Up Like This.
The last two days have truly been wonderful, I'm over the moon happy by the events but a little sad that their over. On Monday night Nick and I was ever so lucky to get seats to the live 'Q and A' show which was being filmed in Adelaide for the night, Usually filmed in NSW, on every Monday at 9.30pm on the ABC. For those of you unfamiliar with the show, 'Q and A' is a live show with a panel of experts, usually political figures and the floor is open for questions from the public and the panel discuss them, I watch it every week.
We were completely unaware that the show was going to be in Adelaide until the day before when our friend told us he' s girlfriend got them a spot in the audience months before after signing up on the website. I knew it was a long show but I decided to email them anyway to inquire about getting two seats in the audience, they emailed me back Monday morning telling me they were unfortunately fully booked. Then at 5.30pm I got a call saying we got seats and if I wanted to accept them so I jumped at it. The show was awesome, they tackled subjects such as politics, sexism and gay marriage, it was extremely interesting.
After the show we went to 'The Garden Of Unearthly Delights' which is a kind of carnival held here in Adelaide during the fringe festival once a year. We'd heard that there was a stall there selling Vegan waffles with berries, whipped cream and melted chocolate on top, we headed over there and there was a guy working there who knew Nick from his band and gave us a Vegan waffle for free. I love free things they make me so happy and appreciative. It was a great and unexpected night.
Now the other this that has me smiling was last night when we saw Bon Iver. We had bought tickets months as we've been huge fans of Bon Iver for years now and this was the first time they'd come to Adelaide, we were excited. I'd been feeling pretty down that day due to my complicated family dramas that I wont get into, but that night, that show just fixed everything. I cant even begin to explain how amazing it was, the sound was huge and the music was phenomenal. Just thinking about last night gets me all excited and emotional, I truly couldn't have wished for a better show. During the last song of their new album 'Beth/Rest' Nick and I clasped each others hand and sung along, I couldn't of asked for a better moment.
Ahhhh what an amazing two nights, I'm the luckiest person.
Tomorrow in one of my best friends, Rachel's 21st birthday, I've been making her a few things here and there as her present so today I'm going to put it all together and wrap it. We're doing dinner and dessert, can't wait.
Here's just a small amount of Bon Iver amazement that we experienced last night.

Sunday Wrap U p.
Yesterday, was a full on day, It's Monday morning and I'm still absolutely exhausted. It started off at 7am, I dragged myself out of bed and threw myself into the shower, I ran around, stressing out trying to be organised and have everything ready to take to the park for the surprise baby shower I have organised for my sister. Once I got to the park I started to set up, but soon realizing that the table cloth I had brought could not with sand the winds and needed to be thumb tacked down, so I rang my best friend who thankfully was able to bring some for me, that was the only slip up of the day, pretty good if you ask me. I set up the table, teas, cakes, cookies, lollies, drinks, etc. People started to arrive, and then my sister arrived, my mum has convinced her to talk my niece and nephew to the park for a play. She was completely surprised, she had no clue, it was great. She walked up to us in track pants and a singlet and started crying, it was a great moment.
The party worked our really awesome, my sister, Jess was very happy and couldn't be more appreciative.
The shower finished at about 12.30 - 1pm so I ran home and unpacked everything from the car after the clean up and headed around to Nicks, I picked him up and we headed into the city. This week in Adelaide is Writers Week, where authors from all over the world come to Writers Week and do book talks and signings. At 2.30pm author David Levithan was doing his book talk, he collaborated with John Green on 'Will Grayson, Will Grayson' and wrote 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist' The talk was really interseting and I'm glad we saw it.
After the talkand as we started to walk out and we bumped into our friend, and Nicks fellow band member, Nick (yes they have the same name), we did bump into one of Nick's friends (our friend Nick, not my boyfriend Nick) who, after being introduced to us got a real kick out of our names "Nick, Nick and Nicole, that's like something our of a movie".
Anyway the three of us headed to the Adelaide national art gallery for the new exhibition 'parallel collision'. Parts of the exhibition were interesting but I have to say that most of it was pretty, for lack of better word, bland.
From there we got back in the car and dropped (our friend) Nick off to his car, parked on the other side of the city where their was a record fair being held, we had a short look around but then had to leave. We fare welled Nick and headed back.
On our way home we stopped at our local pub to meet my family for dinner. After dinner we got a call from Nicks mum saying, Nicks grandmother (who, after a serious heart attack late last year has since been living at a elderly care home) Her house was broken into. Lucky so far it seems they actually didn't take off with anything, they had filled a suit case with a bunch of random things and dropped it outside and left.
So that's it, the most busy Sunday I've had for awhile, I plan to spend my Monday recovering and taking it easy. I'm beat.
Here's some photos from the baby shower I took.
